Double Win: It’s Never 2 Late® Technology Adopters Earn 2018 McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards

Senior care providers recognized for innovative ways to create enriching environments

October 17, 2018 – Denver, CO – It’s Never 2 Late® (iN2L), the leading provider of person-centered digital engagement to the senior living market, today announced two of its clients have been honored with 2018 McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards.  Charlie’s Place Activity and Respite Center’s use of iN2L’s technology garnered it the Gold Award in the Activities category in the Senior Living track, while Encore Healthcare and Rehabilitation won Silver in the Admissions category for the Skilled Nursing track.

McKnight’s Long-Term Care News is the pre-eminent national magazine for long-term caregiving professionals, especially those in skilled nursing. The annual Excellence in Technology Awards recognize operators who are harnessing tech tools to improve care and operations.

Senior Living Gold Award – Activities

The day program at Charlie’s Place (Baton Rouge, LA) has been using the iN2L system since 2012 thanks to a grant from the Pennington Foundation. Dana Territo, Director of Services, speaks to the powerful use of iN2L’s engagement technology: “It might have taken 30 to 40 minutes of coaxing [a day program participant] to get out of the car — we have to be so patient with individuals with Alzheimer’s — but the iN2L system was the perfect solution in attracting him and getting him to stay for the day…” Territo says, “When the clients are having a good time and are content, then we know we have done a good job in creating a purposeful day for them.” And, she adds, “iN2L makes caregivers’ jobs less stressful. “

Skill Nursing Silver Award – Admissions

At Encore Healthcare and Rehabilitation (Crowley, LA), iN2L helps residents transition from home to their community. “We’ve been able to utilize iN2L’s technology to enhance activity programming with new experiences and learning opportunities for our residents,” explains Encore’s Administrator, Cory Gatte. “The iN2L systems have been extremely useful in helping new residents transition from home to our long-term care community. We understand the adjustment to move into a new place is not always easy, but iN2L helps us find activities and interests suitable for new residents’ personalities and preferences.”

“We are so proud of the great work our clients are doing to harness the power of iN2L’s technology solutions,” said Lisa Taylor, iN2L’s CEO. “This achievement demonstrates our clients’ commitment in partnering with us to bring engagement, enhanced services, and meaningful tools to their staff, residents and senior community at large.”
