Challenge
The Pearl at Jamestown, one of Phoenix Senior Livings’ 50 senior living communities, was facing several significant challenges in maintaining resident engagement and optimizing communication with family members.
Their existing calendar creation system was difficult to use, making it time-consuming for staff to create and adjust activities. Activity planning involved intensive activity prep, including research, selection, and material gathering, taking staff time away from interacting with residents.
They also struggled to maintain consistent communication with family members. Without a system for effectively communicating events and updates on a large scale, activity directors were frequently stretched thin by having to provide one-on-one updates to family members.
Finally, they also relied on manual processes for several operational tasks, including tracking activity attendance and transportation requests.
The Pearl adopted LifeLoop’s comprehensive platform, which streamlined operations, improved communication, and enhanced resident engagement. With LifeLoop, families were given easy access to announcements, activities, and updates through a centralized platform, while the messaging feature allowed them to communicate directly with staff, creating a more transparent and seamless flow of information.
As part of this solution, weekly announcements and messages became integral to the workflow, significantly improving transparency and keeping families informed about their loved ones. The Connections feature, introduced during the move-in process, ensured families stayed updated on their loved one’s daily experiences. Staff found the app indispensable for scheduling activities, making real-time updates, and tracking attendance and participation. This not only eliminated time-consuming manual processes but also allowed for quicker adjustments based on residents’ changing needs.
Additionally, transportation scheduling was streamlined through the platform, enabling both staff and families to coordinate seamlessly and visualize the schedule in real time. The Designer tool empowered staff to efficiently create and update calendars, newsletters, and other community materials, reducing turnaround time for these essential tasks. And by incorporating iN2L content, The Pearl greatly enhanced the quality and variety of activities offered, allowing for spontaneous, resident-driven programming that significantly boosted engagement and satisfaction.
LifeLoop has taken so much burden out of having non-activities staff become activities staff! The ease of use has truly maximized our engagement for residents in the evenings and weekends when fewer staff are typically available.
