Challenge
In late December 2021 a catastrophic fire broke out in Louisville, Colorado, and forced thousands of Balfour residents—across various levels of care—to evacuate their homes. Providing quick and secure transportation so that residents and staff could reach safety required a strategic and precise evacuation plan.
With LifeLoop, the Balfour Community Executive Directors were easily able to facilitate communication across their impacted communities in order to execute a seamless evacuation plan. Throughout the experience, staff, families, and residents were able to stay in close communication, ensuring vital procedures and updates were being communicated in real time.
Balfour’s partnership with LifeLoop has been essential in connecting our residents and families to Balfour. LifeLoop is a user-friendly platform that gives Balfour’s residents the ability to directly communicate to the team supporting them at a moment’s notice. For families, LifeLoop offers the same resources and lines of communication while providing peace of mind as to their loved ones’ well-being through participation statistics and photos that show them in action in the community.

Results
The use of LifeLoop allowed staff to manage the many demands of an emergency evacuation. This included the continuation of exceptional resident care as well as communicating to families that their loved ones were both accounted for and being securely moved to a safe location.
